It all adds up

This is my twenty-fifth post, so WordPress tells me. Twenty-five in seven months equals three and a bit per month, which is a better record than I expected. Given that my posts are usually on the long side and probably average at least 800 words, that’s something like 20,000 words  – the length of a short novella or between a fifth and a quarter of a novel.

How did I manage that? It was all quite easy and painless, really, though I confess to tweaking and revising more than some bloggers do. Even if they just read like chat on the page, I like my pieces to have a certain amount of style and shape. Actually I try to kid myself that they might be proper articles, even though I know that in a blog anything goes.

And if anything goes, who knows what may come next. I might even pluck up the courage to put in another poem.

About thebelatedwriter

I'm a baby boomer who has always wanted and tried to write. It was only when I did an MA in Creative Writing in 2010-11 that I dared to take my writing more seriously. I write both poetry and prose and have had a number of poems published. This blog is for my writing friends, my non-writing friends, and anyone else who may be interested in these ruminations.
